MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Cincinnati Reds called up prospect shortstop Zack Cozart and sent right-hander Edinson Volquez back to Triple-A Louisville to work on his lack of command.

Cozart is considered Cincinnati’s best infield prospect and hit .310 with seven homers, 32 RBIs and nine steals in 77 games with Louisville. He was named an International League All-Star after hitting .337 in May and .377 in June.

Reds manager Dusty Baker says Cozart will get the majority of the work at short over Edgar Renteria and in place of Paul Janish, who was also sent to Louisville after hitting .227 with no homers in 68 games.

Volquez (5-4) continues to struggle with a 5.93 ERA and 55 walks this season, second highest in the NL. Reliever Carlos Fisher took his place.
