FAA report clears way for Camas airport decision

Washougal — Rebuilding Grove Field Airport “will not significantly” affect the environment, the Federal Aviation Administration has found, clearing the Port of Camas-Washougal to decide whether to accept federal money to do the project. The port’s Board of Commissioners is expected to decide on the matter during its July 19 public meeting.
At issue is whether the port should accept federal money — and the obligations that come with it — to boost safety and increase the airport’s role as an economic resource. Work would include rerouting a portion of Delp Road into a tunnel that would pass under a longer and wider runway.
