BASTAD, Sweden (AP) — Polona Hercog defeated Johanna Larsson of Sweden 6-4, 7-5 Saturday to win the Swedish Open.
Eighth-seeded Hercog dominated the serve and return in the final of the clay-court tournament in Bastad.
Hercog won 46 percent of her returns, compared to 22 percent for Larsson.
Top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki retired in the second round because of a shoulder injury.
