MADRID (AP) — World steeplechase champion Marta Dominguez has been provisionally cleared of illegally administering drugs, after a Madrid court dismissed more charges against the Spanish athlete relating to the Operation Galgo doping case.

Judge Mercedes Perez Barrios said there was no “no rational evidence” that the 35-year-old Dominguez had committed a crime. Perez Barrios cleared Dominguez of doping charges in April.

The two-time European 5,000-meter champion still faces charges of tax evasion.

Dominguez was among 14 people detained in December as part of a Spanish investigation into doping in track.

Jose Maria Odriozola, the head of the Spanish athletics federation, says “London is near and I would be delighted to count on her for the next Olympic Games.”
