Tool Box Bash celebrates 20 years of Habitat work
Monday, July 11, 2011
Ridgefield — Twenty years ago, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity began building houses for low-income residents of Clark County. To celebrate the past and look to the future, the nonprofit held a Tool Box Bash on June 25 at the Clark County Events Center at the Fairgrounds.
Accomplishments of the past 20 years were highlighted during the event, including the launch of A Brush with Kindness program — building 21 homes and housing 88 individuals, including 56 children — and Evergreen’s first partner family’s coming mortgage pay-off.
During the event, Evergreen Habitat took in around $4,000 to be used for programs throughout the coming year.
