A Vancouver resident wanted on a felony fugitive warrant was arrested Saturday by the Oregon State Police.
Michelle Diane Carpenter, 31, was arrested on a warrant charging escape from community custody. Originally, she had pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine and obstructing police, an official said.
Oregon officials said police stopped a Ford Bronco at 5:24 p.m. Saturday for a traffic violation on northbound Interstate 5 near Delta Park. The last name the passenger gave came back with an outstanding felony fugitive warrant from the Washington State Department of Corrections.
Carpenter was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center pending extradition to Washington.
According to court records, she has 2003 and 2011 felony convictions in Clark County Superior Court and failed to appear at two recent hearings.
