FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — Authorities in New Mexico have arrested a woman who was wanted on a $5 million warrant out of Washington for her alleged role in a 2003 homicide.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Peggy Sue Thomas was captured Saturday night at Navajo Lake near Farmington. They say she was hiding out on her $500,000 houseboat named “Off the Hook.”

A warrant was issued a week ago for Thomas out of Island County, Wash., in connection with the murder of Russ Douglas.

Investigators have alleged that Thomas plotted to kill Douglas with her then-boyfriend, James Huden.

Huden was arrested in Mexico in June and returned to Washington.

Sheriff’s Lt. Brice Current says it’s unclear how long Thomas had been at the houseboat, but she apparently knew all the neighbors.
