CASTELLA, Calif. (AP) -- A 2-year-old from Washington state has died after being struck by a car in a Northern California gas station parking lot.
California Highway Patrol Officer Bill Lynam says the boy may have been following his siblings into the store Monday morning when he was hit.
The family from Snohomish County, Wash., had stopped at the gas station in Castella, a small town in Shasta County.
The Record Searchlight of Redding reports that investigators are not releasing the names of any drivers involved because authorities have not yet determined which car hit the boy. The names of the victim and his family were also not released.
The boy was pronounced dead at a Mount Shasta hospital after being transported by ambulance.
