LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms with Brad Richardson on a two-year, $2.35 million contract, avoiding arbitration with the forward.

The Kings announced the deal on Tuesday, resolving their last potential arbitration case before a hearing.

Richardson had seven goals and 12 assists in 68 games last season. He also was an effective penalty-killer for the Kings, who acquired him from Colorado in June 2008.

Drew Doughty is the Kings’ only prominent remaining restricted free agent. Talks between the Kings and the 2010 Norris Trophy finalist have stalled in recent weeks.

Doughty might not sign a new deal until after the Nashville Predators resolve their arbitration case with Shea Weber, which would set the market for elite defensemen.
