OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Former Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch has agreed to play for the Omaha Nighthawks next season.

The United Football League team held a news conference Tuesday to announce the signing of the 32-year-old Crouch, who starred at Nebraska.

Crouch was a third-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2002. He’s been with three NFL teams but never played a regular-season game. He last played football in 2006 with the CFL and has spent recent years selling playground equipment and medical supplies.

Last year, the Nighthawks signed former Ohio State star Maurice Clarett, and he’s on the roster again this season.
