DUNDEE, Ore. (AP) -- The district attorney says a Newberg-Dundee officer was justified in shooting a man coming at him with a knife.
The McMinnville News-Register reports that 58-year-old John Branch of Dundee was wounded, treated and then jailed on charges in the disturbance.
Police say he threatened his wife on June 24 and then advanced on Officer Chris Rasmussen with what Yamhill County District Attorney Brad Berry described as a hunting knife.
