ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — For an entire generation of football watchers, the catchphrase “Are you ready for some football?” at the opening of Monday Night Football broadcasts is synonymous with the start of the NFL season.
Hank Williams, Jr., the man who popularized those six words, is in Florida recording a promo for an upcoming season that, as of Thursday, was still in limbo as owners and players worked to end the lockout that has lasted four months.
Williams is entering his 23rd season as part of the NFL’s biggest weekly draw and is confident that there will be a season.
