Multnomah Falls will host a Kids’ Day event on Aug. 6, Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area officials announced this week.

The event will include games and guided hikes, plus other activities in the park’s lower plaza.

Organizations participating in the event include the Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute, Gorge Discovery Center, Oregon Youth Conservation Corp. and the Oregon Zoo, among others.

The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the falls, one of Oregon’s most popular recreation areas. Multnomah Falls is off Interstate 84, about 30 miles east of Portland.
