McCord’s Vancouver Toyota will host an event from 5-7 p.m. Thursday to celebrate the completion of its new $12.5 million showroom and service center.

The dealership at 10455 N.E. 53rd St., Vancouver, off Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard near state Highway 500, is on track to be certified as Washington’s first green-built auto-sales facility. The two-story building was designed to minimize utility costs by recycling water and reducing waste and energy use, according to Greg Leonard, general manager and co-owner of McCord’s.

The showroom will house Vancouver Toyota’s new-car sales department, its administrative offices and a 22-bay service center. McCord’s sells Toyotas, Scions, RVs and used cars. Leonard and Jim Lentz, president of Toyota USA, will be on hand to cut the ribbon at today’s event.
