Canadiens get Mitera from Ducks, trade Carle

MONTREAL (AP) — The Montreal Canadiens acquired Mark Mitera from the Anaheim Ducks for fellow defenseman Mathieu Carle on Friday.

Mitera played 71 games with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League in 2010-11, recording 22 points (six goals, 16 assists). The 24-year-old was drafted in the first round, 19th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2006.

Carle played 223 career regular-season games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, recording 97 points (30 goals, 67 assists).

He also suited up for three NHL games with the Canadiens in 2009-10. Carle was drafted in the second round by the Canadiens, 53rd overall in 2006.
