Father, son killed in WA plane crash ID'd

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) -- A father and his young son from Elk, Wash., in Spokane County have been identified as the two people killed last weekend in a small plane crash in rugged terrain in Snohomish County.

The Snohomish County medical examiner's Office identified the bodies Thursday as 45-year-old Mathew K. Annis and 8-year-old Matthew R. Annis. The Seattle Times says the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

The father and son were heading to the Arlington Fly-In.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says the wreckage of the Piper PA 22 was found July 9. He said the plane had been reported missing the previous day.
