DETROIT (AP) — Carlos Guillen is returning to the Detroit Tigers after missing 11 months with a left knee injury.
Guillen had microfracture surgery and hasn’t played since last August. Tigers manager Jim Leyland says Guillen will be in the lineup Saturday against the Chicago White Sox at second base.
Detroit also announced Friday night that it will activate reliever Al Alburquerque from the disabled list. The Tigers will option reliever Ryan Perry and infielder Danny Worth to Triple-A Toledo.
