EATONVILLE, Wash. (AP) — A Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman says the deaths of an older couple found in their home north of Eatonville, Wash., home appear to be a homicide-suicide.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer tells The News Tribune it appears a 70-year-old man shot and killed his 68-year-old wife, then killed himself. Investigators recovered a gun at the scene.
The bodies were found Friday after a relative went to the home.
The man and woman were not immediately identified.
Troyer says detectives are conducting a “full death investigation,” including talking to friends and relatives. He says the couple were alive Thursday.
