Crawford to play Monday

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Boston left fielder Carl Crawford will rejoin the team Monday after being out because of a strained left hamstring.

Red Sox manager Terry Francona said before Sunday night's game against Tampa Bay that Crawford will be in the starting lineup for the opener of a three-game series at Baltimore.

Crawford completed a two-game minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Pawtucket Saturday.

Also, Jon Lester, sidelined with a strained muscle in his back, is slated to return one week from Tuesday to pitch against Kansas City. Francona said the left-hander will have the first of three bullpen sessions on Monday.
