Eugene man surrenders after 4 hour standoff

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- A 20-year-old Eugene man held a 4-hour standoff with police after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
The Eugene Register-Guard reports Derek Chin was arrested Saturday after he surrendered to a SWAT Team.
Police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin says Chin had access to a shotgun inside his apartment and had threatened to harm himself.
