SILVERDALE, Wash. (AP) — Kitsap County officials say search and rescue volunteers have recovered the body of a 20-year-old Silverdale man from Island Lake after he went for a late-night swim with friends.
Coroner Greg Sandstrom identified the victim as Kristopher S. Foisy.
Sheriff’s spokesman Scott Wilson says the body was found Tuesday morning in 14 feet of water about 80 feet from shore.
The Kitsap Sun says Foisy disappeared about 10 p.m. Monday while swimming with two friends.
Wilson says Foisy told his friends he was having trouble in the water and they tried to swim out to help him but were unable to find him. They returned to shore and called 911.
