Vancouver, WA, boy drowns in creek

CAMAS, Wash. (AP) -- An 11-year-old Vancouver, Wash., boy has drowned in a swimming accident in Lacamas Creek in the Camas area.
Police tell The Columbian the boy was swimming with friends Tuesday afternoon in an area of the creek known as the Potholes.
His friends saw him bobbing up and down in the water before he slid beneath the surface. One of them called for help on a cellphone.
A dive team recovered his body.
The boy's name was not immediately released.
