COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Forward Jeff Carter and defenseman James Wisniewski, the two key additions this offseason for the Blue Jackets, were formally introduced on Wednesday.

Carter, acquired in a trade from Philadelphia, donned a No. 7 jersey, while Wisniewski, signed by the Blue Jackets after they acquired his restricted rights from Montreal, wore No. 21.

Both players have been consistent playoff participants in their career, and that is something Columbus hopes will continue. The Blue Jackets have only made the postseason once in their history.

“Obviously with the acquisition of (Carter) it made my decision easier to come here,” Wisniewski said. “As a free agent you want to come to a winning team. You don’t want to spend six years of your life losing here.”

The Blue Jackets finished with just 81 points last season, six less than anyone else in the Central Division.
