BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Oakland Hills Country Club has been picked to host the 2016 U.S. Amateur.
Representatives from the club and the United States Golf Association were at the club Wednesday to announce the event that will be held Aug. 15-21 that year.
Oakland Hills hosted the U.S. Amateur in 2002. The club also has hosted six U.S. Opens, three PGA Championships and the 2004 Ryder Cup.
Club president Terry Donnelly says Oakland Hills would be interested in hosting another U.S. Open, but that right now it is focusing on putting on the best possible U.S. Amateur.
