Vancouver schools foundation names head

Local music teacher and community advocate Jessica Kelly has been named president of the Vancouver Public Schools Foundation board of directors.

Other foundation board officers for 2011-12 are president-elect Steve Hill of law firm Miller Nash; secretary Tamy Fletcher, community advocate; treasurer Cheree Nygard, community advocate; and past president Jennifer Rhoads, financial planner with First Independent Bank.

Joining as new foundation board members are Vaughn Lein, president, LSW Architects; Brad Bauges, chief operations officer, Columbia Credit Union; and Charles Isely, Christel & Isely, LLP.

The Foundation provides money for basic needs, enrichment and mentoring programs, including the Lunch Buddy and Emergency Checkbook programs, and administers scholarships and other accounts.
