A 58-year-old Vancouver man was in satisfactory condition in a hospital Thursday night after being critically injured when he fell off his bicycle and was run over by a flatbed truck on July 9 in Centralia.
Donald Becker has been moved from the intensive care unit of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center to a regular floor and is in satisfactory condition, a nursing supervisor said.
Becker had been riding in the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic when he was injured, authorities said.
Centralia police said Becker was struck about 2 p.m. and run over by the truck’s dual rear tires, injuring his shoulders, back and lungs.
Police said it was "purely an accident" and did not cite the truck driver.
