NUERBURGRING, Germany (AP) — Mark Webber of Red Bull was fastest during the second practice session for the German Grand Prix, edging out Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
The Australian posted a time of 1 minute, 31.711 seconds around the 3.2-mile Nuerburgring circuit on Friday. Rain is forecast for early Sunday, several hours before the race start.
Third was defending champion Sebastian Vettel, Webber’s Red Bull teammate, looking for his first win on home soil.
Felipe Massa of Ferrari repeated his fourth place showing from the first practice. Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher of Mercedes, one of six German drivers in the race, was fifth.
