KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee junior guard Kamiko Williams is recovering from surgery on a torn ligament in her left knee.
Associate athletic director Jenny Moshak said the surgery to reconstruct Williiams’ anterior cruciate ligament was performed Friday and that Williams will begin rehabilitation immediately.
The junior from Clarksville, Tenn., injured her knee July 7 while playing in the Women’s Rocky Top League, a summer league in Knoxville. She was hurt going for a reverse layup after driving the baseline.
The 5-foot-11 Williams averaged 6.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 17.9 minutes in 37 games last season, including four starts.
