Letter: U.S. should focus on needs at home

It’s too bad Congress is thinking of changing our Social Security benefits. How about finding that extra money by bringing home our troops from two wars that costs millions each day? The news informs us that we owe Pakistan $1 billion in promised aid. The American Legion magazine also states that we give Pakistan $4.5 billion each year. Wow, don’t you just wonder? People on Social Security need a cost of living increase — yes, food prices are going up. Has the government noticed?

And leave Medicare alone also.
