SEATTLE (AP) — An 18-year-old man who is suing the city of Seattle claiming police officers used excessive force on him last year has been arrested for possessing a firearm.

The King County Sheriff’s office says Dvontaveous N. Hoston was arrested Friday night after King County metro transit officers broke a group of men starting a fight in downtown Seattle. A few of the men present alerted officers that another man had been flashing a handgun.

Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart says officers later on caught to the man and found a loaded, semi-automatic pistol tucked in his waistband.

The Seattle Times has reported that Hoston is suing the city for $450,000 saying a Seattle police officer used excessive force during an undercover drug operation in October, 2010. The Seattle police officer, James J. Lee, has been charged with fourth-degree assault. He pleaded not guilty in June.
