Two teenagers were taken to a hospital on Monday after the car they were in hit a deer and lurched off state Highway 503 six miles north of Battle Ground.

Justin David Neil, 18, of Amboy and Zachary Charles Wagner, 16, of Vancouver were taken by ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

Both were listed in satisfactory condition Monday evening, a nursing supervisor said.

The bulletin said Neil had been driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee south about 1 p.m. when he hit the deer.

No citation was issued.
