No. 1) One killed, five injured in collision with cement truck

An 18-year-old Vancouver woman was killed and five people were injured late Monday afternoon in a collision of a cement truck with three passenger cars on state Highway 14 in Camas, just east of the Lady Island Bridge.

No. 2) Vancouver boy, 11, drowns near Lacamas Lake

An 11-year-old Vancouver boy drowned Tuesday afternoon after a swimming accident in an area known as the Potholes south of Round Lake, authorities said.

Police said Jamie Keiser, 41, of Vancouver was driving a GMC pickup on Taylors Ferry Road at Southwest 62nd Avenue when a man driving a moped made an extremely wide right turn that took him into the pickup’s path.

An abandoned houseboat moored along the bank of the river — towed there illegally by the vessel that had sunk — is now sinking, too. The houseboat sits partially submerged, its roof gutters on one end nearly touching the river.
