PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police say a Key Bank branch employee spotted a man walking toward the bank and told a security guard that it appeared to be the same man who had robbed the bank three times recently.

The guard detained the man shortly before noon Saturday and called police.

Police Lt. Robert King says 30-year-old Darrel Wayne Lawrence was booked into jail on a U.S. marshal’s hold. King says bank robbery charges are pending.

The robberies at the southeast Portland branch took place July 1, July 11 and July 19.
