ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs says the Roseburg veterans' hospital will stay open and expand.
The Register Guard reports veterans in the Roseburg area feared the VA would reduce the facility to a clinic.
The VA said Tuesday it plans to keep the hospital open with a $55 million renovation and the addition of cardiology and ophthalmology services.
