BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — Attorney General Rob McKenna is honoring three bank employees who quickly helped a man suffering from dementia.
McKenna’s office said he plans to release materials Thursday that will educate banking industry workers about how to protect vulnerable customers.
The attorney general is visiting a Bank of America branch in Bellevue where two women arrived in 2008 with a confused man and sought to cash out his funds. One of the women had announced that she had just married the 78-year-old. McKenna’s office says she was a massage therapist from his assisted living facility.
Officials say the employees called authorities and the customer’s account was protected.
