Martha’s Pantry is teaming up with the White House to participate in the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national program created in 2003 to recognize Americans for their volunteerism. Martha’s Pantry, a private charity providing food, supplies and a social network for people living with HIV/AIDS, is one of thousands of groups that’s become an official Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards.
Martha’s Pantry is holding an awards ceremony starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the downtown Eagles Lodge, 107 E. Seventh Street. All are welcome.
“We encourage everyone to get involved and to bring along your family, friends and neighbors. Together, we can strengthen America — one hour at a time,” said Martha’s Pantry Director Vicki Smith.
