GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy says the NFL lockout deprived the team’s fans of a proper chance to celebrate a Super Bowl victory.

With labor peace arriving, Murphy says it’s time for Packers fans to enjoy the buildup to a new season — although the team won’t be resting on its reputation.

Speaking to reporters after Thursday’s annual shareholders meeting at Lambeau Field, Murphy says he’s happy an estimated 11,700 shareholders attended the meeting. Murphy hopes a lot of fans will turn out for Saturday night’s first training camp practice and subsequent events, too.

But when it comes to the Sept. 8 regular season opener against New Orleans, Murphy says the team will be focused on “winning the next championship” and not on celebrating the last one.
