BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — A Bellingham basset hound is a Hollywood movie star.

The 4-year-old Hank plays Elway in “The Smurfs” movie.

The producers found Hank while looking at the website for Jeff and Gretchen Hoey who breed basset hounds. Although Hank is their pet, they let him go for five months of training and movie-making.

Gretchen Hoey told The Bellingham Herald Hank was homesick, but now that he has become a movie star he wants more attention.
