Some Vancouver streets will be undergoing paving, microsurfacing and construction in August. On Northeast 112th Avenue from 18th Street, streets will be paved starting Aug. 3.

Ongoing installation of a water-transmission line will continue along Southeast McGillivray Boulevard. It will be closed to traffic from the eastern edge of Southeast 164th Avenue to the western part of 166th Avenue. Drivers are cautioned to watch for detours, delays and lane closures.

Microsurfacing will be done on many major streets, including Grand Boulevard, East and West 33 Street, East McLoughlin Boulevard, East Reserve Street, East Evergreen Boulevard, Northwest Bernie Drive, East 29th Street and South Main Street. Those streets will be first to receive work. The next set, weather permitting, will be Kauffman Avenue, West 39th Street, North Main Street, Northeast 86th Avenue, Northeast Thurston Way, and East and West Fourth Plain Boulevard. The process takes place each year and alternates between east and west sides of Vancouver. This year, the work is west of Interstate 205.

Some streets or parts of them are scheduled to be repaved. Beginning in August, Columbia Street, Southeast Bella Vista Avenue, Kauffman Avenue, East Mill Plain Boulevard, Northeast St. James Road, and West 39th Street will undergo construction.

Neighbors will be receiving door hangers to let them know about the changes. In case of rain, paving will be rescheduled.
