EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — A year ago, Matt Dodge and Steve Weatherford were the regular punters for New York’s two football teams — rookie Dodge with the Giants and veteran Weatherford with the Jets.

Now they’re in training camp with the Giants, vying for the same job.

Weatherford has spent parts of three seasons with New Orleans, had brief stops with Kansas City and Jacksonville before having two solid seasons with the Jets.

Dodge had some bright moments last season, but was best remembered for failing to punt out of bounds on the final play against the Eagles on Dec. 19. DeSean Jackson returned the kick 75 yards and the Giants lost 38-31.
