Battle Ground — The Battle Ground High School Relay for Life team “Paws-Ative” recently held a pancake feed called “Flipping Cakes for the Cure” to raise money for The American Cancer Society. The team raised more than $1,500 flipping pancakes.

Christina Haas from Laurelwood Public House/Brewery offered the use of Laurelwood and its cook to make the pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs and coffee for the attendees. Team members served as the wait staff for the breakfast. Gladys Sinclair of Andersen Dairy in Battle Ground donated milk and juice to go with the meal.

This was an especially poignant event as the team lost one of their teammates this year to cancer, Melinda Corrin.
