WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) -- The Chelan County sheriff's office says the search is continuing Thursday for a 21-year-old man overdue on a snowshoe hike near Stevens Pass in Washington's North Cascades.
Ezra Thompson of Paynesville, Minn., left the Nason Creek trailhead on May 25 and was expected Tuesday at Holden Village where he had a summer job clearing trails.
Officials say Thompson has the necessary gear but not a lot of backcountry experience.
There is a heavy snowpack in the area and high avalanche danger due to rain and warming temperatures.
