WA flags lower Thursday for Port Orchard soldier

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at Washington agency buildings be lowered to half staff Thursday in memory of Adam Patton.

The 21-year-old soldier from Port Orchard was one of six soldiers killed Thursday by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.

He was a specialist assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.
