OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at Washington agency buildings be lowered to half staff Thursday in memory of Adam Patton.

The 21-year-old soldier from Port Orchard was one of six soldiers killed Thursday by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.
