NEW YORK (AP) -- Jose Reyes has been activated from the bereavement list and was back in the New York Mets' starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Reyes missed three games following the death of his grandmother, Maria Trinidad Reyes.
Reyes, who can become a free agent after the season, was batting .335 with 17 RBIs and 19 stolen bases before going on the bereavement list. He's among the league leaders in batting average, runs, hits, doubles, steals and total bases.
New York made room for Reyes by putting reliever Taylor Buchholz on the disabled list with right shoulder fatigue. The move is retroactive to May 30.
