3 victims of NV small plane crash identified



RENO, Nev. (AP) — Authorities have identified three people killed in a small plane crash north of Reno.

Washoe County sheriff’s spokesman Armando Avina says the victims were 47-year-old pilot Eric Ling of Roseburg, Ore., and 29-year-old Paula Hincapie and 41-year-old Hector Moreno, both of Everett, Wash.

Several witnesses described the weather as poor when the Cessna 172 is believed to have crashed into Petersen Mountain near the Nevada-California line, about 25 miles north of Reno The plane left Roseburg on Saturday, and wreckage from the accident was found Tuesday with the bodies inside.

Ling’s mother, Jeanette Ling, has said her son was hired to fly the two to New Mexico.

The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
