SEATTLE (AP) -- A man who was convicted of kidnapping and molesting a 6-year-old boy in 2001 in Kirkland had his 30-year sentence reduced to 21 years.
A King County Superior Court judge handed the new sentence to Michael Dunn on Friday, following guidelines from an appeals court ruling.
KOMO reports that with credit for time served Dunn could be released in 2022. He would be about 60 years old then.
Prosecutors say Dunn abducted the boy at an apartment complex, beat him with a belt and tied him to a bed. The boy was found the next day. A medical exam found Dunn's DNA on the boy's body.
