LONDON (AP) — The Commonwealth Games Federation says Welsh boxer Sean McGoldrick has been awarded the gold medal stripped from Manju Wanniarachchi after the Sri Lankan’s positive drugs test in Delhi.

Wanniarachchi, who won the 56-kilogram division in October, tested positive for banned anabolic agent 19-Norandrosterone, a metabolite of nandrolone.

After Wanniarachchi’s appeal period expired, the CGF announced his medal would be presented to McGoldrick on Tuesday in Cardiff.

The silver medal goes to Botswana’s Tirafalo Seoko who lost to Wanniarachchi in the semifinals.

Louis Julie from Mauritius, who lost to McGoldrick in the semifinals, retains his bronze medal. The other goes to Kenyan Nicholas Okoth, who was beaten by Wanniarachchi in the quarterfinals.
