Police shoot bear in Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD, Wash. (AP) — Police have killed a bear that was roaming through a neighborhood in Lynnwood.

KIRO-TV video showed officers shooting the bear Monday morning in the driveway of a home.

Police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions says officers and wildlife agents had been trying to contain the bear overnight as it climbed fences went through backyards. She says the bear was dangerous because it was too close to homes and a nearby school.
