Letter: Requiring retraining is ridiculous

On May 30, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., chairman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, revealed to CNN anchor Candy Crowley on Crowley’s “State of the Union” television talk show that veterans who provided medical care and transportation to troops stationed overseas must, upon returning to civilian life, start from scratch the training process if they wish to be certified so that they can continue to work in those areas after their tour of duty is over.

None of the training they previously received nor skills they developed are transferable.

Descriptions of the explanation for this situation would surely include the words “absurd, deplorable, evasive and misleading.”
