FLORENCE, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon State Police say a man who wrecked a pickup truck on Highway 101 near Florence fought with good Samaritans who were trying to keep him there until help arrived.
When troopers arrived Sunday they arrested 22-year-old Thomas Janes Stansbury of Vidor, Texas, on drunken driving and assault charges. KVAL reports after being handcuffed and placed in a patrol car he kicked out the rear window.
Troopers also arrested two women passengers. One woman also is accused of assaulting people who stopped to help. Another woman was charged with endangering the welfare of her 9-year-old son, who also was a passenger in the pickup. The boy was put in custody of the Department of Human Services.
